We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a distinct and empowering experience available to every believer after salvation. Jesus promised that His followers would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them to enable them to be effective witnesses and to live victorious Christian lives.

We believe the Holy Spirit empowers believers with spiritual gifts for the edification of the Church and the advancement of God’s Kingdom. These gifts include, but are not limited to, wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, different kinds of tongues, and the interpretation of tongues, as described in Scripture.

We believe that speaking in tongues is the initial physical evidence commonly associated with the baptism of the Holy Spirit, as demonstrated in the New Testament, and that every believer should earnestly desire to be filled continually with the Holy Spirit.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit enables believers to:

  • Live a life of holiness and obedience.

  • Grow in intimacy with God.

  • Walk in spiritual power and boldness.

  • Effectively share the Gospel.

  • Minister through the gifts of the Spirit.

  • Build up the Church and glorify Jesus Christ.

We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit remain active today and should operate in accordance with biblical order, love, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
